The Korea-based LG Corp. is one of the leading electronics manufacturers in the world. The company started to produce mobile phones in 1997, and currently they are the fifth largest cellphone producer in the world. Phones manufactured by LG are targeted at consumers from all financial ranges. The LG Optimus series is a budget-phone series with quality. Although incomparable to Apple's iPhone, it has been proven to fulfill consumers' need for a low-cost yet responsive and powerful smartphone.
The LG Optimus V is the exclusive version of the Optimus series for the mobile service provider Virgin Mobile. It is very similar to the Optimus S, which is exclusive for Sprint. Other versions of the Optimus line of handsets include Optimus U, Optimus T, Optimus M, and the Vortex.

However, unlike the other Optimus handsets, this smartphone does not feature mobile hot-spot capabilities.

The GPS can also be used with other location-based apps such as Latitude, Google Maps, and Scvngr. For effortless and fast texting, you can use the Swype keyboard.
